Whatshan Music Festival - What is it all about?
The Whatshan Music Festival is the best annual outdoor Music Festival in British Columbia.
It takes place at the Whatshan Lake Retreat just over the hill from the Village of Edgewood. Thousands
of guests have visited the MusicFest and it's popularity continues to grow. We take pride in hosting the
safest, cleanest, family fun family festial.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering is the energy that drives this festival's engine. The Whatshan Lake Retreat Society is a
registered charitable organization and we are all volunteers. As a volunteer you will be part of a diverse team,
with one common goal ... to make this year's MusicFest the best festival yet and to raise money for youth
programs!
How to become a Music Festival Volunteer ?
To volunteer is both a great privilege and responsibility, so to qualify you must meet certain requirements:
- You must be 16 years or older to volunteer.
- Volunteers will be sent a Volunteer Application/ Registration Form to help us scheduling shifts
- All volunteers are asked to arrrive by Wednesday, July 7, 2010 to set up their camps and help with the set up.
What volunteer positions are available to sign up for ?
- Our volunteers are involved with many aspects of the festival operations ranging from setup, security,
admissions, traffic control, to serving and clean-up, including everything in between. A little hard work,
a whole lot of fun; team spirit are the recipe for success since the Festival began, and we look forward
to working with all of you to continue that tradition!
- Details of various volunteer positions that are available are outlined on the Volunteer Application
Form.
How many shifts are volunteers required to work ?
- Volunteers are required to complete a minimum of 6 shifts to fulfill the volunteer requirements.
- All shifts are assigned by the Volunteer Coordinators.
- Each volunteer shift is equivalent to 4 hours in length.
- Volunteer shifts begin on Thursday July 8, 2010 and are scheduled
through to Sunday 4:30 PM.
- Volunteers are asked to wear Music Festival Volunteer T-shirts when on a shift.
What does the MusicFest provide to volunteers ? Most of all, MusicFest
provides you with days filled with the best entertainment and company that music brings!
Volunteers receive the following:
- One on-site wristband
- A Volunteer Camping Pass
- 2 Festival Volunteers shirts - to be worn at all times when on shift.
- Special Thursday night get together
The Whatshan Lake Festival Committee appreciates the donation of your valuable time,
hard work and dedication to assist in making the Whatshan Lake Music Festival 2010 a success.
Volunteers are invited to the
Volunteer Appreciation & Festival Get together Party that takes place
Thursday at 5:30 pm. Light snacks will be provided.
