Artist and Artisan Vendor Application July 9, 10, & 11th, 2010

Calling All Artists and Artisans!

Whatshan Lake Retreat Society presents the 10th Annual Whatshan Lake Festival of Music & Art, an outdoor event showcasing music performers, artisans, tours, exhibits, youth and family entertainment. The newly created Artisan Village will highlight handmade and original artwork by local artisans. Event to take place July 9, 10 & 11th, 2010.

The festival runs from 4:00pm Friday afternoon to 4:00pm Sunday, rain or shine.

Be a vendor! Visual artists, artisans, potters, jewelers, quilters, woodcrafters and more gather around the Whatshan Lake scenic property to share their talents!

If you are an artist and interested in participating as a vendor, please review the rules and regulations and complete the included application.

Our committee of local volunteers welcomes you to join our community Artisan Village on July 9-11, 2010.

Proceeds from this event support Freedom Quest Regional Youth Services which currently operates in communities such as Castlegar, Trail, Nelson, Salmo, Grand Forks, Slocan, Nakusp and Whatshan.

Arts and Crafts Vendors

Whatshan's Artisan Village is an excellent opportunity for artists and artisans to showcase and sell their work. It is open to all artists and artisans of handmade and original works, including but not liminted to the following: blown glass, carving, fabric and fibre arts, painting, photography, sculpting, stained glass, weaving, beading, and jewelry.

Note: Work made from commercially pre-fabricated kits or mass-produced goods will not be accepted. Items for sale at Whatshan Artisan Village must be handmade by the vendor and one-of-a-kind.

Vendor Requirements and Rules:

DEADLINE for applications is June 15, 2010.

  • Applications must include photos of samples of work to be sold and a brief description of the work for pre-screening.
  • Applications must be mailed or emailed.
  • Youth vendors must be 21 or younger to receive youth vendor rates.
  • Vendors will be notified of their acceptance by email or telephone as soon as possible after receipt of application and no later than June 16, 2010.
  • Accepted vendors are responsible for the set up and maintenance of their booths. No electrical service is available at any of the booth locations.
  • All single booth spaces are approximately 10Õ by 10Õ. If you require a larger booth size than please contact us for further arrangements.
  • The vendor waives any responsibility to the organizers for any injury, loss or theft of, or damage to anything brought to the site on the weekend of the event.
  • Vendors are expected to donate an item to our very popular silent auction.
